Happy Thanksgiving, Morgan! Hope you and your sister have a pleasant day.

I visited family in October, but decided not to go back for the holiday. We had bad travel conditions across the upper Midwest yesterday, so that turned out to be a good decision!

Good tip, I need to pick those up. I currently have Dawnward Spire, Lonely Hill, the letters of H. P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith. Those are also half price if anyone needs them.

A solid choice, Mordiggian is a very just god! First time I read that story, I thought, whoa...a Klarkash-Tonian tale with a happy ending for the protagonists 😮

Fun video!

I really enjoyed the Miskatonic U package. The notepad had their motto "Ex ignorantia ad sapientiam: e luce ad tenebrae", which google says means "From ignorance to wisdom: from light to darkness." Don't know about the diploma though. Translating it might be hazardous 😲

Interesting, I didn't know that! When this story was first published in Weird Tales in 1934, editors changed it to "toad". The Night Shade Books editors tried to restore Smith's original text as much as possible. This text is from the Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith V5 (2010).

Great choices! About 7 out of 10 of those are my favorites as well, but I don't have an order.

It gets even more difficult when including all of the many non-Conan stories.

And I'm a big fan of his poetry.

Yes, de la Mare is great! I have his works from Project Gutenberg.

You may already know this, but for dark poems from various poets, available on Internet Archive:

Dark of the Moon
Fire and Sleet and Candlelight

For printed books, I like Dreams of Fear (2013) and collections of individual poets.

I've not listened to a lot of Schubert, but have enjoyed this particular album for many years. Still sounds great to me, even though I don't speak German. I did find many of the English translations at some point.
