Dad was always anxious his kids might consume anything worse than jelly bugs or chocolate crickets. "When I look at your pupils, I harbor... certain suspicions", he growled ominously. Owlexander and Owliver, however, had absolutely lo idea what Dad was talking about. It seemed best to remain silent.

Molt was that time of year when things became a bit embarrassing. No matter how much you'd spent on your feather suit, it eventually became shabby, and you lost all your expensive feathers so that your downy underwear became all too visible. For Mom and Dad, this state was almost unbearable.
