Who first teamed up pizza & wings at American take-out joints? It dates back earlier than you think. The earliest occurrence that I found in Newspapers.com was an ad in the Simpson's Leader-Times, Nov 17, 1966, p. 4, in Ford City, PA.

Something that gets lost when citing the market value of art or rare books is that appraisals on paper are not a revenue stream that covers the expenses of housing & caring for objects. For libraries & museums, collections are cost centers, regardless of their estimated market value.

When do archivists wear white cotton gloves?

✅ When handling photographs because the acids & oils on your skin can damage the emulsion (surface layer) of photographs.

❌ Not when handling all other kinds of paper because you lose dexterity and are more likely fumble and tear a page.

One of the things I love about #Buffalo is that we fly the Canadian flag in front of government buildings. This is the county office building on Franklin Street.

I'm a landlord of a pub. Have spun a story that a major literary figure used to drink at my inn back in the 1700s. Completely untrue, but tourists love to visit the pub and sit in his 'seat'. All bollocks, but it's great for business.

Here's one I found online.
