On this date in 2000 the Red Sox signed Free Agent Frank Castillo. Castillo pitched for the Sox in 2001 & 02, and again for 2 games in 2004. Overall in 64 Games, 49 Starts he was 16-24 with a 4.66 ERA and a 2.1 WAR. Tragically in 2013 at the age of 44 he drowned on a boating trip with his family.
