I have been calling for a 20mph default limit on residential roads in Birmingham since the noughties! At one stage I was told we had won this argument and it would be rolled out. It still hasn’t and must be done as soon as possible!
🚸 Better Streets for Birmingham are calling on all those preparing to stand for election in Birmingham next year to back practical steps to address the road safety emergency.
Ask #1: Keep rolling out 20mph limits

Keir Starmer is so worried about the Green Party that he's lying about our policies.

The Green Party has an evidence-based policy that recognises the war on drugs has failed.

We would legalise AND regulate drugs to reduce the harms to individuals and to society.

1) Alcohol IS A DRUG
2) Drugs are really accessible now & dealers dont ask for ID to check ages
3) legally regulating drugs means access based on risk e.g. licensed venues or through health professionals with safeguards

It is about getting control of an out of control, harmful market.

Starmer says he’s "taking the gloves off" and that the Greens are "nuts"

Big talk from the PM of vibes based cruelty and trickle down cowardice.

As Israel have been allowed to compete in Eurovision 2026, the UK must follow in the footsteps of Ireland, Spain, Slovenia and the Netherlands and boycott the competition.

The world's largest live music event cannot be used to whitewash Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Is there anything more despicable than watching Labour and Reform compete over who can deport the most migrants?

The Green Party reject this toxic and divisive rhetoric and call for an immigration system grounded in humanity and compassion.

Bill increases of nearly a third for millions of ordinary people have helped Thames Water's profits soar to over £400 million. Foreign hedge fund lenders want more power to pollute our waters and raise our bills. Privatised water is a scam. Let's bring it back into public hands.

It shows how little cut through our policy announcements have got that YP members are convinced we're not in favour of nationalisation. It couldn't have been any clearer: www.politics.co.uk/news/2024/06...

Looks like the average donation is around £30, so just need to find another 1,300 people able to fund hope in the May elections to reach a quarter of a million quid!

I was out litter picking this morning, felt a little sorry for whoever had lost this. I doubt they'd want it back now. Over 20 bags of rubbish collected by our super team of volunteers from Hollybank Rd.

We need to scrap SATs!

Primary assessments are making kids sick with worry, stressing out parents and causing active harm, particularly to SEND pupils.

Govt must listen and rethink these counterproductive tests.

That's astounding! I'm so proud to be part of a party that's providing such hope to people in difficult times that we're able to raise this much for our campaigns.

Huge victory for hungry children 💚
Alongside many campaigners, the Green Party have absolutely dragged the Labour Government to finally end the child cap.

Labour politicians disgracefully defended it for far too long.

This shows why the Green Party membership rising and rising matters.
