I think I found the cause. Someone left this freakin' shield in the middle of the tavern, and it's covered in forgotten beast extract. They're likely getting super sick because of this.

Time to haul it and let the hauler die, I guess

Added enemy juggling (which will have some specific purposes). Ignore the enemies on the side of the screen appearing dead - they're fiiiiiiiine.
