Did Scottish Labour not object to the Scottish Government's proposals for jury-less trials? Is this going to be another challenge for Sarwar's team to justify? From memory I think they were demanding a 3 judge trial if juries were stopped

I remember the Edinburgh Dumbiedykes flats having a communal drying room in each block, possibly converted into accommodation by now?

If the state school system was churning out future adults with no morals, values or sense of social responsibility heads would roll - why on earth do we tolerate the corruption and self interest of the so called elite?

How i wish I kept the receipts of all the unionist parties giving nicola stick when she tried to bring In measures before Downing Street okayed them. The times they intimated dictatorial behaviour when just trying to keep us all safer. The way they politicised the briefings and had them cancelled.

Yes, an understated fightback - apologise for the edit, explain that 2 folk have taken the hit and then announce that to set things straight you will air the whole speech at prime time so that Trump's actual words can be heard, lots of publicity and hype to get attention

bsky.app/profile/zack... A useful reminder for all of us in the Indy movement? Don't get bogged down in the detail or infighting over small stuff, keep the message clear and simple and build support

It should work both ways but billionaires can afford to take legal action, threaten lawsuits, intimidate and drag things out, not sure the BBC has the funds, the backing or the stomach for a fight? They need to work out a strategy though, not just panic before giving in to the bullies

Angela Haggerty on Radio Scotland - BBC should never have altered the speech of the democratically elected POTUS. Ha, all they needed to do was to get opposition figures lined up to criticise, maybe ignore or omit any positive statements and if needs be not show the speech at all. Works in Scotland!

.. then start having more informed conversations, hold your politicians to account, don't accept "facts" without checking and make sure you take into account political bias. In fact, why not persuade your colleagues to hold a State of the Union week in Jan 26 to understand all the different views?

No time like the present, here's some homework :). Skim read these 2 docs along with the OECD one on my original post for some context.

That's Scottish labour's biggest hurdle, trying to get Scots to vote for them on a manifesto of things Scotland already has or does. No wonder they're trying to reduce funding to Scotland - it's a desperate attempt to let England catch up while simultaneously slating the Scot Govt for cuts
