The Doom Bringer™

Needless to say, this is annoying.

I did a Live Chat, and after getting annoyed with the AI "assistant", I got to chat with an actual person and they said since it was provided by an external supplier, they would contact them (in other words, Hoover!) and see what's going on and should hear something in 48 hours.

but I couldn't make sense of what option I should choose to see about resolving the matter, so I got frustrated and hung up. (Seriously, I hate those "Press 1 for x..." things)

I emailed them instead, and was told that I needed to contact Argos since that's where I originally made the purchase.

I rang the delivery service on Monday and was told they were not provided with the item. Rep said they would investigate and I would be contacted.

I rang them again today as I have not heard anything. Was told they have -still- not been provided with the dishwasher. Rep put me through to Hoover

Delivery company messed up. Despite giving us a two hour timeslot and their website saying they will call when they're on their way, no attempt or contact was made.

I booked it for today -specifically- because @renbymon.bsky.social would be home to handle taking the delivery while I'm sleeping.
