Outback assembly moving to Japan in 2026, freeing up space at Lafayette, IN. plant to focus on building EVs avoiding retaliatory tariffs on U.S. built vehicles imported to Canada. The shift allows the plant to be retooled for EV's/other models, while Outback will be made in Japan for global sales.
