Finally, the 2025 Illinois Football season begins tonight.
My prediction: 8-4
And I would be totally OK with that.
Yes, there's potential for more. However, Illinois won 5/6 close games last year even while being out-gained. I just don't see that being totally sustainable.

I would love to somehow see a team get a 1st & Goal at the 1, then take 20 consecutive penalties to be at their own 1, just to see if the Illinois Football defense could stop a team that needs 99 yards in 4 plays because I legitimately don't think this Illinois defense could get that stop.

"The game before the Illinois game running long" is my longest-running joke because it is somehow stays true through increasingly unbelievable circumstances - Like the Cincy/TCU lightning delay today just hours before Illinois/Northwestern starts in an almost blizzard...

Honestly might have been tempted to make a *safe* pass there on 2nd down. The two minute warning was going to hit no matter what after that play, might as well try to surprise Philly there and seal the win..........

ESPN/ABC must have 22 field mics pointed right at the bands in the Georgia/Georgia Tech game, yikes.
(Don't get me wrong, I love hearing bands during college football games, just not at "jet airplane" volume levels.)
