We have the same problem in Canada. Almost every policy & philosophy of Prime Minister Mark Carney mirrors Conservative policy across the board. It’s distressing & infuriating. Same in the UK & western democracies worldwide. In the shadow of pandemics & mass income inequality—fascist history rhymes.

It's a sociopolitical term and not a medical term, so I'd imagine folks feeling it's "safe" aren't quite understanding the roots being fundamentally anti fascist. Anti heteronormative, anti sexist, and anti white supremacy.

Though I am confident I’m not saying anything that isn’t painfully obvious. You don’t go into a war on a government shutdown without an exit strategy.

No! Only way or reason this passed is bc it was negotiated for Schumer to save face. This was always gonna be the way the Democratic Party caved. And most nonpartisan Dem voters who will feel betrayed (or lose HC) for more than a day will not forgive Chuck Schumer or Dem leadership (righteously imo)

I can’t wait for the day when the neurodiversity paradigm is the norm. For clinicians & researchers of all kinds to know and consider both. That learning the neurodiversity paradigm is mandatory. Mainstreamed.
Alas… that’ll be a pipe dream for awhile but a person can dream!

And just to be clear, exhausting because of all of scapegoating of trans people. I quite like being myself. But I could sure do without the all day, everyday and especially crisis days laden in transphobia.

Yeah, it’s 1 thing to talk about clients generally. Another to talk about a specific one. I was especially tipped off bc he was so clearly clout chasing. It was gross. But then again, in his “definitely not racism” he needed his daughter to vouch for his feminism so yeah, that’s a whole lotta mess 🙄
