tom constanten's post-dead project, "tarot" by touchstone, late-blossoming baroque jazz psych recorded in '71, spun off from a musical & niftier than i'd expected, a more fully realized version of a voice only glimpsed with the GD. pretty wild gatefold art by (ex country joe) drummer chicken hirsh.

60 years ago tonight, the san jose acid test, the grateful dead’s 1st gig as the grateful dead, in a house downtown after a rolling stones show. several hand drawn flyers showed up this year, as described in tom wolfe’s electric kool aid acid test, but with seemingly the wrong address on them. bootleg LP trifecta: errors in 3 different phrases on the cover! horrendously gunky audience tape of "r. steward" & the "small faces" at the forum in LA, march '71, with covers as well as covers of covers, in "sterio." artwork variant currently unlisted in discogs (albeit i.c. records' template).

i rarely intend to buy willie nelson albums but then there they are. this is delightful & sets a sweet mood, from 1981, in the "stardust"/standards mode but more a chill & well-recorded acoustic session than jazz pop & maybe a bit looser, even.
