Maher is more self-revelatory than he means to be here, bc I feel like an underrecognized aspect of Mamdani's appeal as a "culture figure" in the moment IS as a "back-to-normal" force: Specifically, he reminds people of Obama and Obama-era politics (you will all please note I did not say "policy")
