The agency is the San Francisco Police Department. In 2023, the agency was responsible for clearing 89k reported criminal incidents. Despite a $775m budget, this government agency succeeded 6.6% of the time. That’s a 93.4% fail rate, sir (as I mentioned, high IQ guy).

Back in the old bad place several years ago, when this academic was boosting a research lede that more police benefit Black people the most (seriously), I pointed out the contradiction above with her own research. Next thing I knew, my name was taken off of the acknowledgments section of the paper.

This academic regularly makes posts such as the one above without mentioning research which she “co-authored” (more on why quotes around this later) that suggests hiring more police will have precisely the opposite effect she claims.
