We were already spooked. Had just found out that peafowl are native to Vietnam. We had flushed a couple earlier. They fly straight up like a pheasant.

50 feet. There were two of us on a patrol, and two came out of a stand of bamboo. I heard the other guy switch his M-16 to full auto while I was doing the same. Thankfully, they backed down. A scary day.

I did a short 2 miles, but I can run. More of a shuffle than a run, but I managed about a third of the distance at a run. Will try again tomorrow. Baby steps.
