I was living in Denmark and thinking about starting a family when Pope Francis was elected and it filled me with such hope and optimism for the future. It was a very good, happy, best-of-humanity, bright era of my life and I always associated Francis with it. I’m really sad he’s gone.

Paul Revere is a big part of how I knew I’d marry my husband.

He came to visit me in Boston when we had just started dating and I took him on the Freedom Trail. When we got to the Old North Church, he started reciting “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” - and knew the whole entire thing.
