Yeah but that Chamber CEO who totally wishes they were Mayor said a 0% tax lift is good because Ken Sim is doing it or whatever CEO brained bullshit he decided was going to be "Visionary" today.

she 100% knows - But her 'base' waffles between between being angry at traffic, angry downtown is to busy, angry downtown isn't busy enough, angry at bikes, angry at trans people, angry at float planes, angry a mismanaged restaurant closed, angry 'youth' exists, angry change happens, and on.

A 100% unforced error. And the 4% target doesn't even exist. Here's the resolution that started it all. It was the "baseline" for the budget. I watched the meeting, and it was clear to everyone that Council had the authority to make whatever changes that made sense.

They’re having long running conversations about cutting $5,000 +/- out of city level budgets - some of our councillors are deeply unserious.

Bike valet removed from the chopping block at $448,000.

Motivations include:
Bike valet connected to the experienced 28% reduction in bike thefts in the City over a few years.
It's part of community safety and good for downtown businesses.

“it’s one block of Pandora, and like.. a block and a half of an industrial area” is way less sexy than “VICTORIA IS DYING”
November 22, 2025 at 7:42 PM
i totally do - but i understand - i’ll do a bit of looking around and see if i can’t find something.

Yikes Jackie - i hope you're not @ing city councillors in every city you've ever visited, and never lived in, about how dead their cities are.
November 21, 2025 at 10:32 PM
I honestly can't be bothered - I'm not being condescending i'm being dismissive. I'm being dismissive because: You've chosen to immigrant to Canada and live in Vancouver (Which isn't Victoria), Have apparently never been to Victoria, and just told a sitting Councillor "Your city is Dying".. 👍

🤦‍♂️ - OK Jacqueline. Whatever you say.
