Beautiful day on San Francisco Bay Trail.

I have two rides that I’ve given my own names to. The one I do most frequently is “The Bridge to Nowhere”, and the other is “The Horseshoe”,

Both are incomplete because there’s no way to cross the western span of the Bay Bridge by bike.

Because they have bad drivers. It’s not the cars crashing themselves, @sfchronicle.com.

Handed you the gun, and you blew your foot off.

Rust told you there was an issue and you ignored it. On top of that, if you run clippy on your code base and fail your CI on things like this sneaking into production... I do this even on side projects, let alone internet scale infrastructure.

Disagree, plenty of worms know foot guns.

Ran my first 1/2 marathon ever today. Got 1:58:53. It went right by where this incident happened. I said a little prayer for the person killed, gave me goosebumps.

The most disturbing thing is that there is no indication, just a day later, that someone was killed at this intersection.

But your dictionary there definitely implies it’s a negative comment about someone’s behavior as well.

Personally I love the American Heritage Dictionary, which feels like it nails it.

Federal law that requires mass transit to any venue or sports arena that hosts an audience of more than 30k.

I hate that I read something like this and I can’t say if it’s true or if it’s some BS made up to support the ICE operations.

I just had to look this up too, but now I know that I want 10’ radius’ everywhere, “the curved portion of a curb that connects two intersecting street curbs or the curb to a driveway approach”
October 31, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Nextdoor is now a place where we can troll car drivers for all demanding they get rid of the bike lane on RSR bridge and now the traffic is worse than ever.

Who is this even for? That looks like a non-standard rear rack (wont accept standard panniers) appears to lack even a porter rack. For $4500?

I rode with #NoKings in oakland today, it was good. Just a couple people jackasses, but mostly everyone was in a good mood. Though it does make realize, Oakland’s streets are ridiculously dangerous in so many places.

Damn, another person hit on Rose this time at the Ohlone Greenway. Thankfully Berkeley is upgrading this particular crossing, but clearly it’s not happening soon enough.

In what world am I a senior?! 1979? Come on.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that there’s such horrid AI slop that thinks people who aren’t even 50 are seniors.

Probably one of the most controversial product manufacturing changes in history, leading to serious and dangerous issues. Sudden temperature changes are the that needs to be avoided.

Seriously, check this out, isn’t this an obvious better usage than car storage?

And then look at the best way to get to the stroll
September 14, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Something about this celebration with a stroller in the background made me laugh, almost a metaphor for soccer in the US.

Who knew that Berkeley had steampunk shops for creating machine's designed for such specific use cases.

I’m wondering if this note from our local PD is the extent to which we’ll see meaningful support of pedestrians,
September 2, 2025 at 6:22 PM
An entitled car driver pissed about bikes in their way. A cyclist pissed about a jogger in their way. Joggers pissed at pedestrians in their way. Then there are those super annoying slow walkers going four abreast making me slow my pace.

Turtles all the way down. Just get out of my way.

I’m a little late to mentioning this, but I’m actually impressed @berkeley.bsky.social installed these flex posts within a week of this crash.

I’ve heard from the boys dad, he’s out of his arm sling, but he’s still a bit scared to get back on his bike.

Which, man, as someone who’s been hit, I get.
August 26, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Get a citizen notification saying someone was hit near your home right after school lets out. You know it’s a street that your kid and friends use to get home.

She messaged me on her watch, she’s ok, but holy crap, she’s in this photo from a friend that went over there.

Fuck Save Hopkins.

The federal government started its war on cities with the car. Led by Robert Moses, I didn’t even realize how evil he was. Wanted to destroy Shakespeare in the Park and playgrounds? He was blamed for destroying Penn Station?!

If only every city had a Jane Jacobs.
