Also Keep in mind that you have a greater reach in the American market, so don’t base your rates off your country. People drop $200–$300 all the time for similar art with commercial rights, easy.

So I raised my rates to where I make about the same, but with a lot less clientele now. I may have less clients now But I have a lot more time to myself to have fun.

It’s what I did when I charged the average rate that other photographers use at conventions—I was booked pretty much every day for every hour slot. But I was extremely unhappy.

I still think what you charge is extremely reasonable. Especially since you give commercial rights. If you have very high volume of work you're doing it would not hurt to raise your rates a little bit. You may get less work but you would get more free time and earn the same amount of money

How i see it, it's ok to be friendly with those you may not trust. Just keep your guard up. It's better than having no friends.

the santa people get angry. me and others suited at a city christmas street block and the pro santas doing it for money kept trying to get security have us kicked out saying we were charging for hugs. but security left us alone after finding out we were just suiting for fun.
