This is bad journalism! The term "post-pandemic" is wrong when we are STILL in the #COVID19 #pandemic. Hearing the teaser on CBC Radio for this "report" this morning was quite enraging.

Maybe if we cared to know reasons for being absent we could have some authentic investigation into the causes. 🙄

BC ran a public consultation this year and invited submissions on electoral reform. The result was overwhelming. Ninety three percent supported proportional representation.

Our volunteers outside the BC NDP convention on Saturday heard the same. People want a better democracy.

Seems like a good day to re-post this. All public institutions in Canada, including CBC and every level of government, should ditch Xitter immediately - it’s a racist, fascist filth factory run by Nazi-loving Apartheid Clyde.
If we are serious about preserving Canada’s democracy and sovereignty, Canadian institutions need to stop tolerating the intolerant! 👇 Amongst other things, that means blocking X, Rebel and others making $$ from purposefully purveying disinformation and division.
Karl Popper’s sage advice for democracies - don’t tolerate the intolerant!
“If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.”

There were once dreams of eradicating measles - I remember discussion on it in my MSc epi class.
The loss of progress on measles is not only a health loss for kids (measles can be disabling & deadly), it’s also a massive economic loss.

We save billions/yr not having to vaccinate & treat smallpox.

Two new SARS-CoV-2 strains circulated in 2025:

“Nimbus” (NB.1.8.1) causing a “razor blade throat,” and “Stratus” (XFG) causing a “persistent dry cough” and spreading much faster due to immune evasion.

You were against air cleaners in classrooms and daycares.

You refused to implement #airborne systems during COVID.

You cast aspersions on industrial hygienists, engineers, physicists & experts in PPE and clean air.

You said "vaxx and relax" & crossed your fingers.

Just maintain the #measles status that your predecessors had established.

But you couldn't even do that.

This is what failure looks like.

It's time Public Health & the Infectious Disease communities to grow up and accept that they need help from experts outside their community.
