Outlive the bastards. Edward Abbey

Oh Lord, lead me to utter words that are soft and sweet for someday I may have to eat them. Mo Udall

Moderate drinker with a cycling problem; Reality-based life form; not a hater. Curious.
#PlaceboEffect but delivered by a scary-dangerous treatment.

Anyone old enough to remember the Apollo 1 fire would never get into one of these.

I think we’ve seen the last of these murders until Trump gets his war started.

Who will be willing to take the next shot?

Donald John Trump and James Michael Johnson are either,

1) cognitively impaired and unable to remember any thing, or
2) the most ill-informed and incurious people ever to serve in American politics.

I had just finished reading Arthur Brooks nice piece on the powerful effects of gratitude, when I pulled out a Dove chocolate and found this advice:

I read that members of the right-wing manosphere may quote stoic texts to project an image of emotional self control.

Stoicism might have some (of the best) elements of conservative thought. But not the worst:

I picked up a copy of “Voyage of the Damned” that I bought _many_ years ago. It’s a tough read right now.

Otto Schiendick was the Ortsgrupenleiter, the head Nazi on the voyage. Gustav Schroeder was the uncompromising anti-Nazi captain.

Schiendick is the archetype of so many men who plague us.

Boulder has set a new record for the latest first measurable snowfall. The previous record was November 17, set by a tie between 2016 and 2021. It looks like we will continue to extend the record.

Rain on November 21 feels nuts.

Well shit.

They had it all: card #, name on card, expiration date, verification code and zip code.

They tried 6 times. I have to say that Chase has been pretty good at fraud prevention. They have declined a few legitimate charges, but they sent me a text right away so I could authorize them.

Sean, the prime directive is maintaining separation. Maintaining flow is secondary. Controllers are likely working to rule+ in order to have a larger factor of safety to manage their stress

P.S. What precipitated the staffing shortage for ATC was the Reagan firings

At the 1924 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, Canada produced a life-size statue of the Prince of Wales made of butter.
