Honoured to call myself a CIHR scholar. Thank you to my community of supporters cheering me all the way. Grateful to be chosen by Queen’s University School of Nursing for this life-changing award. Looking forward to contributing to #blackmaternalhealth research in #Canada and beyond!

On this day in 1834, slavery was officially abolished. Emancipation Day serves as a reminder for us to keep disrupting the status quo, and to keep breaking institutional chains.
Happy #EmancipationDay

I highly recommend this book to educators across schools. I’m hearing that not much engagement with Black history is happening in many schools across Ontario. Educators must know better in order to do better.

Thank you #BlackHistoryMonth

I am so angry. A nurse reached out to me - she was brutally scalded with hot coffee by a white patient, who waited until her face was up before pouring it on her. Then, he called her the n-word. She’s looking for legal help. Black nurses deserve to feel safe too. This happened in Ontario, #Canada.
