But during a meeting with managers, one noticed the letters “BLM” on Bo’s apron and ordered Bo to remove the slogan because it promoted a social or political cause in violation of Home Depot’s dress code. The manager suggested that Bo wear a diversity, equity and inclusion pin instead, or one that said “respect for all.” At the time, Home Depot had also prohibited employees from displaying thin blue line flags and other pro-police insignia and slogans. A district manager agreed that allowing “BLM” on employee aprons could open the door to offensive symbols such as swastikas.

I'm very confused about an email I got from "VoyDoc." CHEQ's data for this report is based on 144,000 visits to its clients' sites that came from X during Super Bowl weekend, from Friday, Feb. 9 up until the end of Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 11. The data was collected from across CHEQ's 15,000 total clients. It's a small portion of the relevant data, and it's not scientifically sampled, but it nonetheless suggests a dramatic trend.

It's not that "only 57% of white ppl are the problem" but that white supremacy is ENTIRELY a WHITE PROBLEM. No one can expect POC to effectively fix that precisely b/c they're seen as "less than."

Only white people can fix white supremacy within their own ranks.

Except from NPR article: The boy had contracted measles as a 7-month-old, when he was too young to be vaccinated. "He got the virus from a child in his neighborhood who was unvaccinated," says Cvijanovich, who now practices in New Mexico. It was a relatively mild case of measles, and the infant recovered. She says he grew up to be a healthy, bright kid — an honor student. Then in middle school, he started to develop troubling symptoms. "He started getting lost between classes, lost like he couldn't find what class to go to next," Cvijanovich says. Worried, the teen's parents took him to a series of doctors to figure out what was wrong, until a pediatric neurologist finally suspected a condition called subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, or SSPE. It's a degenerative neurological condition that typically develops seven to 10 years after a measles infection. It is almost always fatal. Cvijanovich was part of the hospital team that confirmed the diagnosis. "The problem is that there is no treatment for it," she says. "And he basically became more and more incapacitated over time." Some 18 months after his initial diagnosis, she says, the teenager died.

The photographs in the paper show Whale A lifting his head, arching his lower back and lowering his tail, forming an S-shape—a position whales sometimes assume when feeling threatened or stressed. What’s more, Whale A was sick. He was emaciated, and his body was covered in whale lice (Cyamus boopis), turning him a brownish color. These parasites live on a humpback’s skin and can multiply rapidly when the host is injured or sick. A serious jaw injury, probably from a boat strike, was likely the cause of this particular whale’s poor health because it affected his ability to feed. “It looks like the other male took advantage of the weak individual,” Meynecke says. Whale B was seen the following year, but there have been no more sightings of Whale A. Although not all whales are seen every year—so he might still return—the jaw injury may have been fatal.
