Also as you say, combustibility. Memories of Grenfell were still very clear when I was doing this work, and I was suspicious of any quoted fire resistance ratings. To be sure, I took samples of any material I was going to use onto my back patio and gave it a good blast with a blowtorch.

Foam does have its place (I've used a good few cans of it in my time, God knows), but any method which does not take account of how moisture moves through the building fabric is going to cause damage.
I don't do it anymore, but I used to insulate lofts as a side-hustle, so I learnt the basics.

Behaviour can be modified by incentives. Eg Octopus 'cosy' tariff. Encourages energy use outside peak times (yellow my addition if you have PV)

I mean this seriously - someone should take a look at the interiors of some classic vehicles and copy them as closely as collision protection standards allow.
