6. Sectional Outlining doesn’t help you outline an entire book. It simply helps you get past a complicated part of your story. This is when the plot and the players get too complicated to track in your head. Doesn’t mean you outline the rest of the book, just that part.

Off-the-Page #Outlining offers a way to add tension into a story. Not every book requires this, but sometimes outlining what’s happening beyond the scope of your POV character(s) can make things more exciting by forcing your main character to react to others more. #Writersky #NaNoWriMo

An #outlining method you probably shouldn’t use for #NaNoWriMo, because it would be cheating, is the “Rough” Rough Draft. It’s a potentially useful outlining method, though. Think of this as the ugliest of rough drafts. No dialogue or descriptions. Just who does what and when. #Writersky

Headlight #Outlining is my least favorite method. It lets you get started writing your book, even though you don’t have a definite ending yet. It’s one of the riskier methods of outlining, but it’s better than getting nothing written at all. #NaNoWriMo #Writersky @nano2point0.bsky.social

The Act-by-Act approach provides a simpler method of #Outlining that breaks up the plot into its separate acts with a few notes for what happens in each. You figure out your ending, and this can help with pacing with room for more discovery writing. #Writersky #NaNoWriMo @nano2point0.bsky.social
