It’s really kind of wild how many people—including how many suburban democrats—equate “I can see patches of green grass and shrubbery” with “environmentally friendly.”

Not sure how to break them of that mindset, but it seems pretty important!

A city with a few hundred robotaxis is cool and futuristic, but with 100,000+ it'll be gridlocked and dangerous.

All the more reason for local leaders to adopt congestion pricing and automatic traffic enforcement ASAP.

Really can't overstate how problematic robotaxis become at scale:

"Urban traffic is constrained by the fact that getting around by car either requires (expensively) paying someone else to drive or (inconveniently) driving oneself. Without such constraints the result could be brutal gridlock."
Self-driving cars will transform urban economies
A robotaxi boom is coming. The impacts might be broader than you expect

Automated. Electric. Frequent (2.5 minute headways). Fast (100 km/h plus). Cheap to build. (One tenth the price of other systems)

And really fun to ride...

It’s really not very complicated. You can buy studded tires for the price of wipers, fluid, oil change and tire rotation one time for a car. Nice infra makes biking entirely pleasant almost every day of the year.
Rode Hennepin into downtown this morning. There was some crunchy ice, a few rough spots, some annoying gusts of wind, but active clearing and studded tires made it rideable.

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is how when a driver does something wrong, the public and media don't smear all drivers as reckless assholes. But when a cyclist — and especially an e-biker — does something wrong, all bicyclists get attacked and blamed.
