I'm very proud of how well this Gameboy Pocket Color is turning out 👀. It's about 50% complete now

Them good (or bad) old days, eh?

I now consider my build of the @mks.bsky.social Shinobi-Scaler: "Feature Complete". I always hated the bulk and clumsy look of a GBS unit kludged with mods, so I started this project a few years ago and spent a lot of money and time in parts, but the image on my CRT looks amazing from it!

I have successfully created the first (to my knowledge) homebrew hardware for the Model2b arcade board. Test menu features the word "EXIT" replaced with 1s and 2s to represent which bank the game is running. This one set of chips can hold 2 versions of the same game.

In the lab, cooking for my model2 obsession...

I haven't done actual hardware capture of model2b in a while so I thought I'd test out this hack I did for a podcast last night.

The linear regulator gets too hot converting 5v to 3.3v, so I'm going to temporarily replace it to make sure the sound chip works.

This may not look like much, but I spent the last two years obtaining parts and making my own Shinobi Scaler, which was designed by YveltalGriffin. For the better part of a year, it sat collecting dust due to major depression and no motivation, but I finally got one working!

I can't stop making PCBs....

I also made a Model2b voltmeter! It uses the (basically) unused connection of "+5v out" CN8!

And when I face God, He will ask: Did you commit Model2 crimes?

To which I will reply: Yes
