So in order to not be tainted by the Democratic Party brand this third party couldn't caucus with the Democrats, right? So you'd end up caucusing with Republicans? Or just self isolate?

This is one of those times where the inefficient distribution of progressive and liberal voters is most obvious.
In Missouri St. Louis and KC can run up the numbers for statewide ballot initiatives, but can't help with state congressional districts in all the rural areas.

People continue to vote for officials that not only oppose the ballot measures, but go out of their way to fight implementing the ballot measures.

Isn't that kind of the point, though? Poorer folks don't necessarily eat worse food because they want to, but because that's what they can afford and comfort food is real. I won't begrudge someone stressed over their survival wanting some comfort food.
