That‘s kind, and I hope you’re right. But your basic point about Sapiens is also right, and I felt like a dilettante when I had to, say, touch on the politics of Bohemia within the Holy Roman Empire or the role of the Cortes in peninsular Spain. Big and sweeping is dangerous.

Someone is going to have the write the thing about how “vibe” has become a substitute for meaningful theory in a world where the theory is so clear — grift and power — but we collectively refuse if because it isn’t sophisticated enough to generate make work for empiricists.
