This model of the Sovereign Lightship is on display in our Sargent Gallery. It was deployed there from 1875, the first of its kind to use a flashing light. It was in use until 1971 when it was replaced by the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse. (Known locally as the Sovereign Light.) #Bexhill
