I poured a lot of guts and angst into this. I wanted to write different SF, about being alive, afraid, and looking for something to fill the hole that lives in all of us.

And look, you get another novella with it! Find out where to buy:

Hopefully most people will recognize these as scams but if you get a DM from "Bluesky" saying that your account was suspended and you need to click on some skeezy link to reinstate it, that is not how any of this works. You can report that account for impersonation.

James Bond was about during the cold war, eh? And one of the main things that they kept as kompromat on spies was gay sex, often by entrapment. Bond would definitely have seduced a dude for Queen and country. The kinkier the encounter, the more compromising.

Bond bloke bonking bondage for accuracy!

Project Hanuman is here. I hope you'll take a look as I think it's a pretty good space opera - no hero's journey here - this is about community, how we build back better and, of course, mind bending space battles in sentient ships.

On the day when people post about their family members who served in the forces during the World Wars, I'd like to remember my grandfather, who spent the war working on the tetanus vaccine, and my other grandfather, who was a farmer and who took in Jewish refugees. They also serve.

Even more reason to keep this institution from succumbing to a decade's long attack from the right wing whose strategy is to create an environment where the rest of us hate it enough to accept its demise - the exact same playbook used against the NHS

Ruin it when in power and attack relentlessly
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

A real honour to have been asked to provide the illustrations for this new edition. It’s as fantastic as you’d expect but ‘Ogres’ in particular blew my mind (and made me want to start a revolution)
I think this is now the most beautiful book I own. Yes, it’s Adrian’s text (as good as ever) and Anderida did amazing work here, from typography to binding, etc. but my lord, Ian McQue’s art goes f-ing hard.

Audio, graphic novels, a lot of ways to get back into reading and they're all equally worthy! Excerise different bits of your brain but you need that, too.

"Stories" came before writing anyway. I reckon it probably went:

I managed to get back into reading physical books again after a hiatus. With me I suspect it wasn't too much screen time – when reading a physical book I felt I was wasting time and should be Doing Something. (Of course the same applied to doomscrolling with added self-loathing.)
Too many people have resigned themselves to not reading because they fear they no longer have the focus for it. You only need to limit your screen time for a few days to begin feeling the effects on your brain. I promise you, you are capable of reading books again.
