Winter Landscape Project (15/15)
I hope this project can help you see the beauty in winter 🩵

Had to end on a snowy one! Really enjoyed creating this piece and seeing all the textures the watercolour makes.

Honestly, one of the views I will see most commonly in winter... okay not the bin bags but like, a common street, grey clouds, and barren trees
I can still see its beauty though.

I also very much tried to not correct thing and let the paint do what it wanted when it left my brush, which has made it quite impressionistic I feel. Also gets across some of the sparseness in winter too.

Foggy and misty days are a staple of winter for me. It's always interesting to see the world through a slightly dreamy lens and how mysterious everything looks.

Prints and original of this available soon!

One from the local park, celebrating that whilst the trees are bare, you get to see more of the beautiful skies that winter gives us.

I like to keep things professional on here but it's important to remember I am but a person and I too am somewhat flawed in places...

I've long wanted to do this image as a painting and I've finally done it! I love the sunsets of winter so much, I just wish we had more daylight.

Final stretch now!

This is one I was super keen to do, featuring the snowdrops that give us the hope of spring, but the barren shapes of winter that frame everything so beautifully.

Done with watercolour and gouache.

I made a “how do you do, fellow kids?” joke to someone in their mid 20s who, it turns out, was too young to have heard of that meme.

So “how do you do, fellow kids?” is now an example of “how do you do, fellow kids?”

Bit different this one, went for just pencil to capture the gloominess of the cemetery in the snow. I used to just be a pencil artist so it was nice to go back to my roots a little with this one.

This image is from Harrogate, I went during a Christmas market and was enchanted by this view of the houses overlooking the various colours and shapes in the park.

We're back again with this project! A simpler one, based on the how the barren trees give us a better glimpse of the beautiful but brief sunsets with the early moon rising.

Enjoy!

As November happens I tend to find the transition point of Autumn to Winter becomes a little depressing, so I wanted to start my Winter Series backup!
Here are four of the images from earlier this year to whet your appetite, I'll be posting new ones every other day throughout November!

View Over The Valley.

This painting is based off a view near me, naturally, loved working with the autumnal colours and creating a little space for two people and their dogs to live 🧡

Big projects and commission work means I haven't been able to share much art lately, so have some recent Sketchbook Exploration.

Strangest moment when I offer to make a round of tea for everyone in the house and they all say "no thank you"...
Like, has everyone been replaced with replicas? What is happening?!

My shop has been updated with 5 images from an old project to celebrate the new season!
(Since I can only upload 4 I guess number 5 is a surprise for Bluesky users)
They are printed on high quality paper and look just like the original paintings, support if you can! 🍂

No matter how much you disliked the direction Game Of Thrones went or the ending, we can hopefully all agree with one thing...
The opening still fucking slaps.

A Study In My Sketchbook

I am currently in the throws of a very big project with an ever looming deadline, so I wanted to share something from my sketchbook.

Here, I am doing some studies from paintings by Pre-Raphaelite artist Frederic Leighton, probably one of my favourites from that movement.

Yesterday, I sat outside and painted some images based on photos friends have taken.

The whole day was truly lovely, very much manifesting the life and feelings I want for myself.

Hope you like them.
