Which means he has savings and investments that GENERATE £125,000 income PER YEAR

Meaning his savings and investments must be in the £2-4 million region (depending on the return)

He says the mansion tax, and 2% dividend and savings tax increases will cost him £5-6K a year.

The mansion tax will cost £2,500 per year.

So the 2% increase in savings tax and dividend tax will cost him at least £2,500.

Paul, in his Aston Martin gilet, 10 years from retirement, living in one of the most expensive houses in one of the best places in Britain, with savings and investments worth £2-4mil (excluding anything he has in tax-free ISAs), who has earned enough in his lifetime to pay “millions in taxes”…

Excellent try, but sadly no - his name is Robin Redbreast.

Apparently there was a time when people gave bird species human names.

As of 2015, by public poll, the official bird of the UK!

Robins are always very cute. Also, really bold. I've had them standing literally a foot away from my hands when I've been digging in the garden, as they're on the lookout for worms.

Sorry, looking back on my post, I see I blurred what I was saying: I think the mirror universe stories were weak because there was no lasting material consequence to them

I always enjoyed the DS9 mirror universe episodes, though that's probably down to Evil Kira.

For the most part, I think it's because there was almost no consequence to them - no lasting impact on the main universe. There are better mirror universe stories in Trek.

It's also begging the question.

When the answer to "what can we do to fix the situation?" is "but this is the situation!" there comes a point where you can only assume limited imagination/conditioning, or bad faith.

Ah, a new one!

But it doesn't fit with the Greek lettering, so my fastidiousness instinct is running wild

The Singularitarian fantasists who want us to elevate machines to consciousness are not interested in the happiness of all beings.

They want to degrade the biological body to a mere vessel, one they can discard. It's bunk theology for men who believe they're too smart and special to die.

I may have got it completely wrong (in fact, it's likely), but I thought the whole "Alpha" thing was now out of date, and the new thing for Bros is to be "Sigmas", i.e. "we're loose cannons who play by our own rules". Cue loads of videos on "How to be a Sigma" which is beyond stupid by its own logic

Barely at all - never actually read the Bible properly. Read a book of Bible stories once, think that's where I got it from.
