Most of my fondest memories of this game are the hours I spent playing it with people I love, like my dad. He and I would play through each album as they added them to the game. We were both bummed that they only did three.

Not only is this game a perfect blend of Doom and Smash TV, but in 2001 seeing what this game could do visually on relatively minimal specs was mind blowing. A gorgeous, fun game only made more stunning and challenging with its HD remasters.

Genuinely fun, and at times genuinely scary. I recently rediscovered the fact that the European version of the game - the one I had 20 years ago - has a bunch of content and features not included in the US release. Fortunately both are on the Switch 2.

Worms changed my life. WormsDC redefined it. Quite by accident, I became the online expert for this game. If you've read anything about it online, I either wrote it or am a primary source.
Nearly 30 years later, I'm working on an update as a producer. Still unreal.

Never understood how to play it. Never got very far. But I loved playing it anyway. I was always amazed at how they fit an entire universe onto a single floppy disk. Just incredible.

Fantastic little Loderunner-like where the things you have to collect are the monsters trying to kill you! Brilliant, inventive, downright tricky in places, but tons of fun.

There are maybe 5-6 games I would describe as perfect. This is one of them.

Thinking about 3DMM and business Sims like Theme Park inevitably leads me here, to The Movies. God, I loved this game. @mikeyface.bsky.social and I streamed a bit of this way back in 2019.

Before there was Rollercoaster Tycoon, there was Theme Park. The Amiga version will always feel like a stripped-back version of the game that came out on PC and PS1, but I loved it.

My dad gave me a copy of this game, which I suspect came free with his PC. I spent hours making movies in this thing, and watching movies the online community had created.

This was everything I wanted a third Monkey Island to be. I found the ending disappointing - it just sort-of stops - but loved the journey.

My friend Adam - well, I say "friend", he'd later go on to steal my Game Boy - has this on his SNES. I loved it. The first twin-stick shooter I ever played!

Another board game adaptation, and as with most board game adaptations this was perfect for me because I had zero friends. A fine adaptation with some rules changes for technical reasons.

I went back to this recently and it's… fine. It's okay. But God, I spent so much time playing this (and its sequel) as a kid. Still has a banger soundtrack, though.

Such a great game. I think you could make a really solid argument for this being the pinnacle of the early 00s PC FPS space. Loved this game, miss it every day.

File under games I am awful at but keep coming back to anyway.

Real ones remember the cheat code on the Amiga version of this game.

After the relative safety of Monkey Island, playing a LucasArts game where you can die (or get arrested!) presented significant challenges for young Ben. I don't think I ever finished this game, but I got pretty far in and loved it.

I feel like @regretagarbo.rip would probably appreciate this.

My first exposure to Indiana Jones. As a kid, I never got past the first level. But I played it a lot. A LOT.
I did eventually get further as an adult, but I don't think I finished it without cheats. It's aggressively difficult.

Of all the games in the MGS series, this is the one I've replayed the most. I keep coming back to it. Some people hate the over-the-top cutscene animations, but I love how much TTS leans into the ridiculous anime nature of MGS.

Speaking of Puyo Puyo, this is how I first experienced it - a freeware game included on a cover-mounted floppy disk for an Amiga magazine (Google thinks it would've been Amiga Power, but I'm confident it was Amiga Format or CU Amiga as we rarely got Power). Cracking good fun.
