We made a major overhaul of our procedural map gen in "Deadly Days: Roadtrip". We now defin biomes, which swap certain texture slots and our #Unreal PCG graph. Map generation is still the same (street, parking lot, etc.). Gives a lot more variety and future possibilites. #indiedev #gamedev

#UnrealTips: Enter Culture=leet in the command line and your game will show up in leet speech. This allows finding fields that are not properly set up for localization. In Editor it changes the editor language too, see pic 😆 #UnrealEngine #gamedev #indiedev

Inspired by Balatro, "Break the game" is a design goal for Deadly Days: Roadtrip. My teammate is working on an air pump item that inflates bullets of ranged weapons and the size of melee weapons. Taken to the extreme in the video 🙈 #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame #UnrealEngine

3. Write demo check function in a blueprint function library that you can use in CPP or Blueprints. Use it where needed (displaying demo overlays, locking out functionality etc.)

At the end of 2017 "Deadly Days" was released in Early Access. 2019 it was fully released. We finally got over 1,000 reviews. This project proves that the long tail is a thing (-> don't worry if your project doesn't break even on day 1). #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #gamebiz

"Indoorlands" is now two years old 🎉 Today I show you our unit chart. A surprise video from YTer "Lets Game It Out" turned the game from a financial disaster into "just" a financial lesson. A total of 100k€ net income and expenses of about 200k€. Still on the way to ROI. #indiedev #gamedev #gamebiz

Quick reminder that Unity caches all package versions, even after an upgrade. As I'm notoriously short of disk space, it sometimes helps to clean up here 😅 Ah and check out WizTree (see pic), it analyzes disk usage in a few secs, so nice. #unitytips #unity3d #gamedev #indiedev
