Something understandably in short supply these days.
Sort of related, I do think too that the timing here is also a big reason why the reaction has been so apoplectic -- less than a week after those election victories was certainly a choice. (Not to say there isn't a cost to dragging it out)

Oh no question! I do wonder if there's something else in the CR fight they could have taken a stand on, though. It does seem cruel to make healthcare of all things the face of the fight if they knew they couldn't do it (though, admittedly, they needed *something* to present a salient message with)

The party leadership did this to themselves, frankly, and Kaine et al's statements only make it worse. If you know you can't win the healthcare fight, picking it as the main vehicle for messaging sure is a choice!

It's genuinely incredible to me that he/his staff/the people responsible for his social media presence thought this line was even remotely appropriate. Just truly, extraordinarily out of touch with their own voters
