I second the motion to adopt this term.

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

The average Bluesky post that begins with "It's very funny that..." ends with something like "Scott Bessent's views on the carried-interest loophole have been completely discounted."

When you describe something as very funny, it has to at least be a little bit funny!

It is insane because... that didn't happen!

Numerous newsrooms had dedicated teams covering all the things DOGE did, including the legal challenges to its sweeping data access (and alledged theft), chaotic cuts to staffing that were reversed and the failure to meaningfully impact spending.
It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

This is so so disturbing. Trump is now pardoning January 6th rioters for unrelated crimes, just to reward them for their violence to keep him in power.

The Republican Party is in the full time business of endorsing and incentivizing political violence. So scary.

I am a big James Austin Johnson fan, but his Trump impression has gotten significantly worse over time, and I can't recall another case of that happening.

Yes if you want to doom this is the reason to me more than the cave. We should have been begging them to kill the filibuster and had a bunch of Dems willing to say if they want to kill your healthcare with 50 votes it’s their prerogative.
i suspect there’s some truth to this and also why we should be EXTREMELY skeptical that senate dems as currently constituted would ditch the filibuster should they ever have a trifecta again

(Bloomberg) -- US President Donald Trump conceded Wednesday that it was “pretty clear” the Constitution didn’t allow him to seek a third term as president, despite frequently floating the idea in recent months.

“If you read it, it’s pretty clear, I’m not allowed to run,” Trump told reporters
