And there's a chance that things'll get weird.

Yeah, that's a possibility.

Help me by buying some daft stuff here: https://ko-fi.com/benbakerbooks
Was there an indie / alternative album you got for Christmas that always makes you remember that time? Perhaps one you had to send a relative to buy from a record shop. Let me know and I might build an episode around it, especially if there's a little story attached.

Also: Hogan straight in with the absolute bollocks.

If you like indie music or brackets, there's something for you in Middle-Aged Teenage Angst at 11am this morning (maybe.) @noiseboxradio.com

I've no new book out this Christmas and it feels weird. I'm very proud of my previous ones though and many are 30% off this weekend with the code BOOKGIFT30.

Now that's a dream of a story and headline combo.

I wish they'd "unwrappe" fucking off and pissing off while they're doing it.

Anyone else getting shady vibes from this lot?

And we close with Apollo 440's unique knees up take on "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", the king of bracket racket.

Named after an extinct bird, Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi were probably too exciting for the charts in 2001. But I love them, especially tracks like "Names (For Nameless Things)".

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci request "Let's Get Together (In Our Minds)" but trust me, its a wasteland in there Euros, lad.

GO BACK TO YOUR SEAT PLEASE. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR FUN AND AMUSEMENT.

I will never tire of telling people I saw The B-52's live although "There's A Moon In The Sky (Called The Moon)" was one of the few tracks from their triffic debut they didn't play then.

Now a song by Sponge called "Molly (Sixteen Candles)" or "Molly (Sixteen Candles Down the Drain)" if you need more assistance on the European single release.

A cover which got The Wedding Present on TOTP - "Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)" is perhaps the most mistitled record ever. But can you taste the venom?

The last single released in his lifetime, Elliott Smith's "Pretty (Ugly Before)" is as stunning as its title suggests. Unlike me who is clearly trapped in the before section.

The Soft Boys released "(I Want to Be An) Anglepoise Lamp" in 1978, thus setting the path for a lifetime of fantastically odd Robyn Hitchcock songs. But is it a sex thing?!

My Bloody Valentine loved a bracket - there's three on "Isn't Anything" alone- but I've chosen to play "(When You Wake) You're Still in a Dream" because my life is a constant nightmare.

They Might Be Giants? On Noisebox Radio?! Shocking affair! Best call for "(She Was A) Hotel Detective" and hope she has one of those blue light things for the muck.

The Ponys are ironically not pony, as tracks like "I Love You 'Cause (You Look Like Me)" clearly prove to your ears.
November 25, 2025 at 8:14 PM
For the single release of "Sheffield Song", The Supernaturals bunged "(I Love Her More Than I Love You)" in brackets for the slower pop purchasers. Didn't work sadly. Go buy their new stuff here though: thesupernaturalsofficial.bandcamp.com

Couldn't afford REM so instead here's a Discount. Luckily "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". Wait, no I don't...
November 25, 2025 at 8:05 PM
My Chemical Romance nailed performative ridiculousness with the brilliantly titled "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)". That's probably too much sodium for one person though, Gerard.

Fancy one up the bracket? Well, you're in the right place if you tune into Noisebox right now for "Middle-Aged Teenage Angst". (Check with a parenthesis first if its ok.) @noiseboxradio.com
