There's a lot of big news today/this week, but Apple just dropped a nuke of a paper about LLMs & LRMs, specially around "high-complexity tasks where both models experience complete collapse." This is the biggest sign yet that if AI ever lives up the hype, it won't be via those approaches:

I totally get why the github.com/flutter/ai project removed the API key support (it should never ever be used in prod), but it made putting together a demo so easy! Now you are forced to integrate Firebase.

I'm writing a new course module about releasing apps on the Google Play Store.

Given the latest requirements about "closed testing", it appears that Google doesn't want people to open personal accounts.

Hopefully, this warning is clear enough.
❌❌❌ Do not enroll as an Individual! ❌❌❌ Since November 2023, Google introduced strict testing requirements for newly created accounts. These requirements apply to personal accounts only (not organization). According to the information in the help centre: If you have a newly created personal developer account, you must run a closed test for your app with a minimum of 20 testers who have been opted-in for at least the last 14 days continuously. When you meet these criteria, you can apply for production access on the Dashboard in Play Console so that you can ultimately distribute your app on Google Play. Source: App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts Based on these requirements, it’s clear that Google does not want you to open a personal account and will make your life very difficult if you try. Here’s an account from an independent developer who had their app rejected: I discovered that to pass the “closed testing,” it’s not enough just to gather 20 people and wait 14 days—every one of those 20 people must play the game every single day for 14 days!
