Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Men are socialized to hate women. They are told from a small age the worst thing they can do is “cry like a girl, or throw like a girl or act like a girl.” Then they grow up associating women & girls with shame. And that is how this misogyny breeds. It is patriarchal conditioning from the get-go.

Carney’s deal with Smith is a betrayal to the planet that won’t win his party any support in Alberta; if Poilievre was PM and had made the same deal, the Liberals would be protesting. More Liberals need to speak out against Carney, and B.C. needs to do everything it can to stop this pipeline

It's not just that the United States has stopped trying to promote liberal democratic ideas internationally. It's that the United States is actively trying to promote the contrary. It's trying to turn more countries into Hungary.

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

Kristi Noem is guilty of crimes against humanity and needs to face justice.

📌 She made the final call to defy a court order to halt deportation flights, sending people into the hellscape of CECOT, a place the UN has compared to a torture chamber.

Prosecute her and everyone involved.

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

90% of deep fake images online are non-consensual pornographic images of women and girls.

And yet, these images are not yet illegal in Canada.
Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This year's theme is digital abuse.

Fewer than 40% of countries have laws protecting women from cyber harassment or cyber stalking. This leaves 44% of the world’s women and girls without access to legal protection.

Excellent overview of the crisis facing higher education in BC and much of Canada. My only significant quibble is that I don’t think the unravelling will be slow. #highered #canpol #cdnpoli #bcpoli
Opinion: The slow unravelling of higher education in B.C. has begun
The federal cap on international students triggered the crisis. Decades of provincial underfunding made it inevitable.
