Breal bought a slew of unloved brands and then engaged in a damaging race to the bottom. This was the inevitable conclusion and the only surprise is that it has taken this long.

My thoughts are with the blameless employees that will be affected by their failure.

For the avoidance of doubt, and because some people don't seem to be able to tell the difference between news and opinion, here's my own view on why Weston's is wrong to declare the death of #perry 🍐

What’s in a name? Why Westons ditched perry tag to win over younger cider drinkers
The Herefordshire cidermaker says nobody knows what the term 'perry' means. But should it not be its job to educate them?

Hi @helenannesmith.bsky.social. Not really sure why I am getting it in the neck from you here for doing my job, asking Westons a question and reporting their response. Us publishing Westons words is not the same as us agreeing with them. Low hanging fruit to slate journalists though I guess...

Went to two pubs this weekend, paid upwards of £7 a pint in both and the service was shambolic. Go to a – admittedly extremely busy – restaurant today & it was the same. Slow, inattentive and dopey staff seems to be the norm everywhere you go, and people wonder why hospitality is on its arse...

The goal vs Chelsea where he left Luiz on his arse, the one post-COVID against Arsenal, the two vs City in the CL semi final, the first at our new stadium, the puskas winner vs Burnley, the trophy lift to end 17 years of hurt. So many incredible goals and moments.

I've seen Gascoigne, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Ginola, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Kane and more.

But Son Heung-min is my favourite, not just for the breathtaking goals but for the person he is. A pure soul in a game that doesn't have many. Nice one, Sonny.

Apparently today in craft beer land we're dunking on a brewery for being disingenuous about where its beer is made, even though said brewery has previously been open about that fact when asked (by this journalist, no less) in the past.
