I keep running into this line of thought with people who aren’t directly part of my movement work I do. And its definitely a tad frustrating..

Shows how good organizations include community with their work, and out of that, the ability to inoculate against a lot of the despair.

An acquaintance of mine was recently detained by ICE. He's lived in the US since he was six. His DACA status lapsed and due to a DUI charge he has not been able to apply for citizenship. He could be deported to his birth place, Namibia. He doesn't know the language.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Enjoying the punishment of an entire group for the actions of some members of that group is something Trump fans and liberals have in common.

It took photos of Black churchgoers being water hosed and bit by dogs for congress to act, responding to the 1963 March on Washington with a couple of years dedicated to reducing inequities and outlawing poll taxes.

It may take something similar for us to to finally send the UN in to israel/gaza
so we are all just gonna be forced to watch multiple genocides and war crimes happen huh

like the most consistent position from elected Democrats is demanding to see the evidence to justify these strikes. that's not an anti-war position.
the Democratic Party has comprehensively failed to oppose either war with Venezuela or these boat strikes beyond a handful of statements and media hits about how one of them violates the rules of war.

I'm not saying they *support* it. but they are not even attempting to lead the opposition to it.

Sorkin totally bungled this whole interview. He mostly let Karp steamroll him, but then cut Karp off as he was saying "I will tell you a secret that I hope the NYT and WaPo doesn't listen to--"

Then he missed this obvious factcheck I caught, and also asked Karp about his mother dying-she's alive.
Alex Karp again insists that Palantir isn't "building a database" for surveillance and "doesn't even really work with the DOJ."

That's a lie: the Department of Justice has signed SEVERAL contracts with Palantir that sure look a lot like a unified database for investigations, see my next post:

Paul Dano is amazing in THE FABELMANS, truly tragic and sad but full of love for his family.

Also, Dano is INCREDIBLE in THERE WILL BE BLOOD. He does exactly what the role requires and goes beyond.

Finally, Dano brings real relatability and empathy in SWISS ARMY MAN.

Paul Dano - great actor.

Paul Dano was a good enough actor for Spiels to cast him as his own father. I’ll take that vote of confidence over the opinion of a ‘movie lover’ who has famously horrible taste...

he's AIPAC endorsed but the state party is very much a different way and Roy knows where his bread is buttered.

This feels like the central toxicity of these dude-gurus: They're feeding men an ideology that immediately casts it as "virtue signaling" whenever anyone states a moral value of any kind. An explicitly nihilistic worldview and a recipe for lifelong misery.

A police state targets everyone to demonstrate their power to target anyone.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

Normalizing corruption isn't a partisan project for Trump. The important thing is not whether the Menendezes and Cuellars of the world are on the Trump Train - it's establishing that corruption is no longer a thing that's worth prosecuting.

I've been listening to Hillary Clinton's bullshit since I was a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. I turn 50 next year. When will we be rid of these ghouls???
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

The margin might be a little “underwhelming” but the fact turnout was so high is a VERY good sign for next year.

If the margin was only like R+1 but turnout was super low, not sure that would have told us a whole lot about 2026.

But the core MAGA base showed up and they got gutted on persuasion.
final turnout tonight: 179,684

total turnout in 2022: 180,822

call it ivory soap turnout that's 99.4% of the last midterm

2018 was a D+8.6 environment and Democrats lost Texas by 2.5%.

If we’re even in a D+10-15 environment next year and Paxton is the R nominee, there’s a real chance there.

Alaska with Peltola, Ohio with Brown, and even Nebraska with Osborn would all absolutely be on the board.
