Just an average citizen who wants the best for all in society, pro-EU and social justice for all.
We must get to a point where the onus is not on victims of racial abuse to 'prove' they are indeed victims. It compounds the abuse and permits the abuser to taunt their victims further. It's the equivalent to: "Who's going to believe you?"
Farage should prove it's not racist to use those terms.

“I think that it would be important to anchor the concern for social justice and equality in the longer tradition of the Labour party, which draws on resources of solidarity, civic virtue and community.”
This synthesis never came to pass. As post-Brexit Britain has polarised...

Private schools brag thay their superior "character" education explains the over representation of their alumnae as leaders. Johnson & Farage illustrate exactly what kind of characters can come out of said system. All schools should recognise the damaging and long-lasting impact of racist abuse.

'He was a 13-year-old boy at a loss as to how to handle what he describes as a sudden and inexplicable intrusion of antisemitism in his life.'
'Farage at the time was 13 or 14. Too young to know better?' The right age for correction or it could lead to what we now have to deal with.

'Reeves had been expected to raise income tax by up to 2p, potentially alongside a one-year extension of the freeze in thresholds.'
'Had been expected' - so, not a u-turn then?

New Labour made community cohesion central to their vision for the society they wanted to lead. We need the fearlessness of Jack Straw today.

Bullying is intentional, repeated behavior intended to intimidate, or coerce someone perceived as vulnerable. It involves a misuse of power The bully often has a real or perceived power over the victim, whether through social status or other means.
Surrendering to bullies only makes them bolder.

'I could feel the place lose its nerve, against a Conservative government of which it was deeply afraid, and the seeds of much of the contemporary crisis being sown. I have little sympathy for Tim Davie, precisely because he made that worse, acting at best naively, for reasons I will explain.'

The deputy PM can't help himself and shows how amusing it is to see the "honourable" member of Clacton in the House.

'They were keen and hardworking, most from aspirational families. Many living in poverty had big dreams.
I encouraged them, believing they’d be absolute assets to any workplace or profession they joined.'
Insightful reflections from a classroom teacher. We need to harness all talents.

If only we could get rid of all the immigrants and return to no crime, peace, harmony and prosperity. Yep, law and order has been totally wiped out since those immigrants born here arrived on small boats!

Farage serving the constituents of Clacton??
It's hardly a surprise is it? I'm sorry but you get what you vote for, he had form.

I do enjoy @fbpech.bsky.social posts so went to take a look at the article and the irony of the advert versus the content quoted from Lam wasn't lost on me.

Farage is no expert on what it was like in terms of the safety of women and girls before the small boats. His self-proclaimed expertise on women's issues is offensive.

Medhi tells @newsagents.bsky.social about people's Plan B to exit the US if current climate continues. I have heard exactly the same in the UK. Both nations are at risk of brain drain and available workforce dearth. The impact for society will be greater than we anticipate.

Braverman describes a protest in which police officers are injured as peaceful because families were there. The Queen of ban hate marches calls this protest peaceful. Thank goodness the safety of the UK is no longer in her brief.

We are not going to be held hostage by the super rich. Those of us earning a miniscule of what they have (inherited or otherwise) pay our tax without complaint. What is their issue with it? They should speak it openly and transparently no matter how it makes them look.
