Where did you walk by such a thing?

I’ve had what sounds like a similar problem with several novels that were recced to me recently, and I think it’s because I’m more interested in fiction exploring problems that can’t be neatly solved, so if worldbuilding addresses them too easily, I get frustrated. (I am curious what the book was.)

I took the day off to go Christmas shopping with my mom, but she doesn’t trust anyone around here to drive in snow, so I had the whole morning to myself!

Yeah, that was the problem I had with it. I think there was some good if heavy-handed stuff about colonialism in season 1, but it’s sort of hard to watch when mostly everyone is terrible.
