Humanities major talking BUT it is becoming clear to me that any of the typical barometers of economic health in the US are out of sync with daily life for many Americans. And too many commentators/avid posters on here are still cushioned comfortably from that reality.

Yeah, like I recognize there are different pain points for folks depending on where they are at financially but it is infuriating to see people on here just be like “the economy was amazing” when I feel like lots of folks were feeling the pinch.

And people are still struggling in 2025! It is a tough time to be a freelancer, contract, worker, or underemployed (which accounts for a large portion of the American workforce) and the cost of healthcare, rising rents, a& expensive childcare are major factors in how people feel about the economy.
