Spotify’s 'listening age' is a masterclass in productized storytelling. Spotify takes raw behavioural data and reframes it as an identity insight. It turns something mundane (your top songs) into something socially shareable and emotionally sticky.

"Jayalalitha to me was one of the strongest people I have met; life had dealt her many bad deals, but she rarely chose to play the victim, but would come out like in the old Wild West films she liked, with all her guns blazing".

"We should thank our lucky stars that Kishore Kumar’s ‘Rote Hue Aate Hain Sab’ from the 1978 film Muqaddar Ka Sikandar is not up for discussion in the Parliament".

He just doesn't care (adding a disclosure about paid content, and removing the quotes from the sentence sent to him by the agency/client), eh? 🤦‍♂️

"IndiGo has mistaken market dominance for moral immunity. IndiGo’s leadership appears to have confused dominance with entitlement. The arrogance of its leadership sits uneasily with a company that exists only because millions of ordinary Indians choose to fly with it. Arrogance breeds carelessness".

"The Centre’s penalties and strictures on IndiGo should be so exemplary that no operator in a public utility industry, be it airline or telecom, ever attempts to pull a crisis on the people as IndiGo has now done."

You'd think our most dominant political party would discuss—for *8* hours—in the Parliament something that has current, topical importance, like the horrendous pollution across India (and Delhi), the chaos in the aviation industry, etc. Nope. Vande Mataram, it is.

Today morning! :)

"It is apparent that IndiGo has used its dominance of India’s air travel market to blackmail the authorities into giving it relief—albeit temporary—from compliance with tighter rules on night landings and how long and late into the wee hours pilots and crew can be put to work."

Let's do more of, "Why bring politics into this?', "Why brng Modi into this?', etc. And completely avoid seeking any accountability. Already the clean chits are out - ET calls the aviation minister 'too much of a nice guy' 🤷‍♂️

How can BJP ever resist weaponising something/anything? Yes, the Parliament should waste another day in 2025 discussing a decision from the 1950s within the context of that period. Only this is of paramount importance for BJP to score religious brownie points over its already decimated rivals.

Class 11 Indian student points to etymological error in Bill Bryson's 20-year-old (first published in 2003) book! Bryson and Penguin Random House acknowledge the error and credit him in the book's latest edition!

2004 - 2014: LoPs had 162 meetings with visiting heads of state.
2014 - 2025: A handful.
Result of brute-force majority: power going to the head.

ET gives clean chit to aviation ministry/minister, and even says, "GoI does not need to defend itself over market concentration in Indian aviation" and, "Perhaps he’s (aviation minister) too much of a nice guy"!! At least TOI shot straight: "Indian aviation seems to be on a ventilator".
December 8, 2025 at 2:07 AM
In India, the government doesn't need to quash calls for accountability. People will counter each other with, 'Why bring politics into this?'. But BJP would gladly 'bring politics' into the States they don't rule, divide more people, and pour ghee into that division.

From May 10, 2023: "From aviation and telecom, to ports, airports, and power, the natural progression in India seems to be the rise and demise of all but one or two oligarchs who manage to beat other rich moguls. In India, hegemony is being acquired — or getting awarded".

How times change! SpiceJet is usually the last resort for most people, if there was no other option. 3 years ago, their snags were so persistent that they had to advertise occupancy to tackle the persistently terrible news. Now, they are trolling IndiGo!
December 7, 2025 at 7:01 AM
"NDA's civil aviation ministry" means the blame can divert BJP and go to Telugu Desam Party since the Union Minister of Civil Aviation (Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu) is from TDP. Very clever wordplay by RSS. As Goundamani said, "Eeyam Poosuna Maadhiriyum IrukkoNum, Poosaadha Maadhiriyum IrukkoNum" 😂

That Pero dress in today's New Indian Express magazine brought back memories of Sivaji Ganesan's scenery-chewing act in Karnan (in the 'uLLathil Nalla uLLam' song) 🤭

Really? And what about India interfering in another country's legal/internal situation? That's a national decision by the BJP, no? This is something BJP repeatedly berates other countries for, about them interfering in India's internal matters.
December 7, 2025 at 3:37 AM
What next? Full-page ads with Modi Ji's large pic and Shri Ram MNK garu's smaller (relative to Modi) pic by IndiGo, Akasa, and Air India where they thank the duo for the "festive gift' of sorting out Indian aviation's problems?
December 7, 2025 at 2:31 AM
Why is BJP desperate on device-level satellite location tracking of all Indian citizens, something that has no precedent anywhere else in the world? Return of the 'Saheb' days?
December 6, 2025 at 1:14 PM
Read the room, IndiGo! If the ad is going to evoke, 'No, you aren't' or 'Yeah, right!', along with, 'You had 18 months to prepare for the implementation of the FTDL norms', then the ad is completely pointless.

Instead, anticipate the reaction (aka 'read the room') and say something that 1/3

"You don’t suddenly go from 90%+ On Time Performance (OTC) to 10% in three days because of “fog and ATC”. You do it only when it perfectly aligns with a regulatory fight you’re having".
