Today (11/29) marks the 25th anniversary of "Metal Slader Glory: Director's Cut", the Super Famicom remake of the cult classic Famicom ADV. This ver. featured updated sprites redrawn by Yoshimiru + extra story scenes. An English fan translation released earlier this year.

Today (11/29) marks the 40th anniversary of the Famicom ver. of classic ADV "The Portopia Serial Murder Case". This version of the game was huge, essentially pioneering the ADV genre on consoles. It notably used a command-driven menu to guide progression due to limited input.

Unfortunately, the English translation of "LoveR Kiss Endless Memories" is... very messy. Conversations are very stilted & unnatural. I've also frequently noticed out-of-place words being strangely substituted for correct ones.

I started "Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved" (skipped the demo to wait for the full thing) & man does this already have a strong grip on me! Game's very much my jam in every way & the vibes are immaculate! I'm gonna consume this thing faster than a Thanksgiving turkey...

This game is hard to recommend & feels made for a very specific kind of person w/a specific mindset. But I think it's ahead of its time like moon was. When the way we critique games evolves into a nuanced discussion on "whys" vs "thing good/bad", it'll be revisited more fondly.

I finished Stray Children! LOVED IT! A lost PS1 game uncompromising in its commitment to its brave vision. Gushes w/creativity & love for games. A one-of-a-kind experience & a lovely reminder of what makes the medium so special. Felt like a send-off letter made by industry vets.

I saved every Older in Stray Children up till now but in what I think is the final area there's one I'm missing an item for & I have to kill them to advance NOOOOO

Rather than using animated lip flaps, "Heroine Dream" for PS1 makes huge honkin speakers bounce to show you that a character is speaking & I love it for that.
