i think most people end up some kind of hybrid as williams recommends, but most hybrids still favor one end. i don't have the exact shape of all my arcs planned out, but i know the landmarks i'm bending towards, so i'm a straight ahead-like hybrid with "planned poses" studding the path along my way

people who plan their entire script out before even starting a comic would fall on the farthest end of pose-to-pose, while people who start from the blank page with no plan and just start drawing/writing, building as they go, would be the most extreme straight-ahead type.
