C/Unix ninja, PhD student in astrophysics (instrumentation, mostly). Ham radio operator (EA1IYR). I am the guy to blame when SigDigger crashes.
LLMs are a freaking curse. Looking for the etymology of this french girl name, most of the websites are LLM-hallucinated garbage.

The magic eye was broken but I've replaced it with NOS/NIB from East Europe. It's a shame the camera is messing up the hue, it's true color is actually a more vivid, less bluey green. Greener than a green laser.

Friendly reminder that relying on LLMs to teach yourself stuff is a bad idea.

I left SigDigger running for the last 24 hours in HF @ 32 Msps. You an easily tell when the D layer of the ionosphere vanishes, enabling communications below 10 MHz. Useful? Not much, but damn isn't it beautiful?

It's the default color map for many heatmap-like figures produced with Python's Matplotlib package. It's in a lot of scientific papers and, while it is not necessarily bad, I believe there are others that are nicer to the eye. Like Inferno.
