Lots of new followers!

For you : my most important stump:

To get Valve to let indies maintain a fanbase across/over/ in between games. The follower functionality is now useless, but letting us create long lasting communities players on steam is the one solution for indie sustainability I have.
Thats why I regularly beg for Valve to improve their follower functionality .

Indies fucking rock at this stuff. But we need to tie this to the games we sell.

Please @valvesoftware.com improve the follower functionality and pages in steam. It will benefit players in the end.
"own your audience" is good advice, i suppose, but i dunno how that's supposed to work when you have 10k followers on two social sites, many of whom are very engaged, and it's still hard to make ends meet

Friends, I am looking for new opportunities as a Game Producer, preferably remote!

Please let me know if you know of any available roles, or freelance projects that need a producer/PM. Website with all relevant links is in my bio (and is my handle).

Reposts are incredibly appreciated!

Autogame Deluxe has been in development for over 10 years now.
"Is the game THAT big?!" well no, but stuff happens.
I started the prototype when I was still a dev duo with @thomasjager.nl.
Since then, I've added and removed soo much. People say "make a lot of small games", well this can work too...🧵

Never managed to truly understand quaternions (can use them just fine) so for a decade i tried to make Euler angles and mat4x4 work, what a waste of time. Still I'm not comfortable with having this system in my code that i don't truly understand, but it sure makes for shorter and faster solutions.

How do folks feel about revshare gamedev projects this decade ? Given that publisher are less likely to fund a project.

Stumbled upon a technique that is new to me to speed up a deferred renderer and it worked really well, and later found this article explaining the principles filmicworlds.com/blog/visibil... allowing me to skip the depth prepass

Why does your game cost so much?

Probably not very efficient use of dev time, but feel that if you make an online-only game that you shouldn't outsource those parts to a 3-rd party.

Fell during bouldering last week 🙄 it's a good reminder of how fragile health and mobility is. Hope to be back to walking and driving in a week.

Someone told me that this app may seem very empty because of this default setting that requires replies to have 2 likes or more before they show up.

Indeed! I changed it so that all replies show up, and suddenly the place seems much more lively. I highly recommend changing it in your settings.

Digital goods pricing keeps being weird, want something cheaper ? just get more people to buy it.

When working as a lead with a few programmers, do you prefer to tell juniors to redo some work to get a better design/style or do you quickly do the changes yourself and show them as an example of what is preferred ? both have downsides.

Recently seeing some indies shipping far too early, getting pushed out by their publisher and then failing hard. I get that publishers want to get rid of the non-viral non-hits, but most of these games have potential if they just had taken the time...
